Lisa Gerrard (born 12 April 1961) is an Australian musician, singer, and composer who rose to prominence as part of the music group Dead Can Dance with former music partner Brendan Perry.Since her career began in 1981, she has been involved in a wide range of projects. Gerrard received a Golden Globe Award for the music score to the film Gladiator, on which she collaborated with Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt. In addition to singing, she is an instrumentalist for much of her work, most prolifically using the yangqin (a Chinese hammered dulcimer).

And...I saw such a terrible horror, nameless abomination...
And... I stared at such dark putrid image, an effigy of peculiar disgust,
with dark blooded eyes, dark as night skin, dark semblance with features beyond humanity.
And of a sudden I saw such Ill and putrid spawn from Abysses beyond all nightmares...
Horror, Alas! horror come to me each time I think of this,
Demise would have been a relief to me,
for a mere glance into those spectral eyes could freeze every flamering will,
Not even the sick paleness of the moon could apart that image from my mind...
And... I saw such terrible nameless horror before me,
My own reflection, the resemblance of my Own spectral Effigy, The Reflection of Mine...
